# Embeds and external links
## YouTube
Use a normal supported YouTube watch, share, shorts or embed URL. Eight normalizes it to the supported player. The provider's embedding, privacy, age and geographic restrictions still apply.

## Vimeo
Supported Vimeo and player URLs are normalized, including supported unlisted-video hashes. Do not remove access parameters and assume an unlisted or private film will become publicly playable.

## Other HTTPS embeds
A host can forbid embedding with browser security headers or require sign-in. Eight cannot guarantee that an arbitrary app will run inside the viewer. Test the actual destination, and choose External link if the host requires opening its own page.

## External link
Choose External link to send the visitor to the original HTTPS destination. Eight still presents the project, Studio and credit information. The external site's uptime, access controls and data practices remain its own.

## Troubleshooting
A blank or refused iframe can be a provider restriction rather than a bad file. Try the original provider page, check whether a signed-out visitor has access, and confirm you selected Embedded instead of passing a page URL as a raw video file.
